After leaving Fort Wilderness, we were expecting something less in a campground. We were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by an extremely friendly hostess who made us feel right at home. Lots of permanent residents who, except for one, were smiling and friendly all of the time. Bathhouses are extremely clean and well stocked. Park is well maintained.
Hard to find, harder to get into with 40 foot motorhome. Pleasant surprise when you do get in. We stopped overnight and campground nearly empty. After setting up, we enjoyed the many wildlife sharing the park with us. The bathhouse, while dated, was clean and well supplied. Rangers were friendly along with the receptionist. Much, much easier to exit. Just be aware that low, overhanging limbs and narrow roadways make the drive in challenging. The experience was worth the effort.
First Good Sam park that ever required proof of membership. Great little overnight park. Bathhouses clean. Lots of permanent residents. Hostess very friendly and helpful. Didn't use WiFi so can't comment. Utilities in good order. Big play area for children. Pool was clean. Not much local TV and no cable available, so take satellite dish. No large trees make satellite viewing exceptional. Would return. We were here in a motorhome.
Great little campground for short stays. We were there for five nights. Sites clean and well maintained. Only one small bathhouse, but clean. Mostly permanents, not overly friendly. Visit Fort Riley and Eisenhower Museum, if time permits. Junction City is a great little town, but not too much to do. See the new veterans monument and law enforcement statues. We will be back, if we are ever in the area again.
Okay, folks, here's what you get for your $29.00. We're in a class A towing. Only thing available was combining 3 sites into one, but without sewerage. Fifty amps and water. Men's room is a portalet sitting 20 feet behind the office. After checking in, we had to wait ten minutes for the guide to park us across the street. We were advised that we were taking up 3 spaces, even though he was the one who parked us. No cable. Sites small and close, roads are dusty and gravel. Lots of workcampers blocking roads with trucks and reluctant to move. One and only visit.
We have enjoyed this park since 1972. It now appears Disney has lowered it's standards concerning children operating golf carts, campers cutting through sites and those using gasoline powered 4x4 atv machines. One atv began doing "doughnuts" around his site after a heaving rain. Disney approached him but he denied doing it and continued to drive it for 2 more days. Several loops have been cleared making the urge for campers to cut through sites more appealing. Some, too lazy to walk to the loop exits, simply walked past those having meals or simplying enjoying the outside. One child, about 6 years old, was driving his parents gasoline powered golf cart all day, simply ignored by security. Still, the most pleasant, cleanest and most expensive park in the USA.
Very convenient location to I-85. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Sites are standard sized, but adequate for most units. Bath house is clean and equipped. Some permanent residents live in tents and walk around in various stages of undress. One site, on the top of the hill, had small children playing and a permanent male tent resident appeared only in see through pajama bottoms. No extra charge.
Best kept secret near Memphis, Tn. Great place to stay. Restrooms, though unisex, are extemely private and clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Great views of the mighty Mississippi River. Long, pull through sites are paved and level. Great place to stay while visiting Graceland, Peabody ducks etc.
Nice, overnight park close to I 40. Bathrooms were clean and climate controlled. Friendly staff. Pull throughs fairly level, but without sewer connections. Easy ingress and egress, even in large motor homes. Close to Loretta Lynn's Ranch, but much more reasonable. We'll be back.
We are totally confused at the previous ratings. We stopped here overnight and enjoyed one of the quietest evenings ever. The restrooms were spotless, the sites clean and paved, facilities in good order. Sites were adequate in size. The folks in the office could not have been friendlier or more helpful. This is a good overnight spot traveling either to or from Florida.
Clean well kept park. The only drawback is the $2.00 per day extra for cable, but offset by free wifi. Restrooms extremely clean, Pool is small, but easily accessible. Lots of permanent residents, some getting out of control with yard debris and tarp covers over the roof. Will go back again and recommend park to friends.
Beautiful, well kept park near Charleston. Speed limit 10 mph strictly enforced. Rest rooms immaculate. Water pressure is low and wifi is expensive. No cable available. Difficult to enter and exit during rush hour. The owners constantly patrol the park for problems. One of the brothers is friendly and the other not so friendly. The staff is friendly. Sites are large and mostly pull through. Not overly satellite friendly because of the trees, but can find the birds with a little effort. Will definately return in the future.
Disregarded my own advice and returned thinking the electric had been repaired since my last visit. No such luck. The owner followed me to the site knowing the 50 amp did not work, pulled out his ammeter and said my coach had a problem. Not buying that, I asked for a different site and moved. He again followed with his ammeter, but this time it worked - 50 amps. The people behind us in a motorhome said they had problems with brown outs the day before and the wiring was inadequate for the loads. FMCA rally close by so rates were high. The pool, playground and comfort stations are immaculate, but beware of the electric. Owner extremely nice but will tell you the problem is in your coach. We are here at this time, but will leave early tomorrow.
